Arabic Majlis Restoration in Jumeirah Villa

This majlis in a Jumeirah villa had served three generations of the same family. The original woodwork was sound, but the upholstery had faded, the foam had collapsed, and the gold trim had tarnished beyond repair.

Our team stripped the seating back to the frame, replaced all foam with high-density layers, and rebuilt the cushions in a traditional Arabic style — low profile, firm base, soft top. The new fabric is a sand-toned jacquard with subtle geometric embroidery, chosen to match the villa’s existing marble floor. Brass nailhead trim replaces the original gold piping.

The family wanted to keep the majlis character but sit comfortably for long evening gatherings. We added a hidden layer of memory foam to the seat cushions and reinforced the backrests with a slight ergonomic curve.
